Key Drivers – Rapid growth in the highly unionized construction (particularly of transmission and distribution systems) and utility sectors Electric Power Generation – Union representation increased from 12% to 13% (8,600 workers). – Union density in the energy sector (11%) was 50% greater than the private sector average (7%). Transmission, Distribution, and Storage Growth – The sector grew by 5.4%, adding 52,515 net new jobs despite a loss of jobs in the transportation of fuels.
