APCA Research - Market Penetration Study

October 2025 APCA MARKET PENETRATION RESEARCH www.ContinuumCapital.net Model Assumptions & Issues Workforce size overestimation due to no overtime and no within year layoffs – These assumptions balance each other and while they overestimate the size of the workforce, they are a conservative approach to estimating total workforce size. Significant gathering workforce underestimation due to limited regulation and tracking of gathering activity. This workforce is nearly 100% merit shop. Portion of merit shop workforce includes some union distribution contractor workforce that could not easily be estimated and removed. If removed, the merit shop work force would shrink in size. Workforce data includes equivalent pipe and station supervision and field positions and is predominately capital work. Workforce largely or exclusively performing maintenance work are not fully included in the workforce size estimate, nor is the full gathering industry workforce incorporated. Maintenance workforce is significantly understated in size and is likely split at the same ratio as union versus merit shop new capital work. Gathering line work is nearly 100% merit shop and would boost the merit shop and total workforce size substantially. Subcontract (HDD, etc.) and specialty (clearing, grading, etc.) workforce are generally included but not broken out separately. This lack of breakout increases the number of trades segregated and displayed in this research. Vendor, manufacturer, and other ancillary services are not included in the workforce size. 106
