Kayak Adventure 1 - 4 pm A kayak trip offers a refreshing escape into one of Southwest Florida’s most serene and scenic waterways. This slow-moving river winds through lush mangroves, tropical hardwood hammocks, and old Florida wilderness, making it a peaceful but engaging paddle—perfect for conversation, laughter, and bonding. The adventure begins when the group gets fitted with kayaks, paddles, and life vests. After a quick safety briefing and basic paddling instructions, the group launches from a private dock into the calm waters of the river. As the group glides beneath a canopy of native trees—live oaks draped in Spanish moss, cabbage palms, and cypress—they’re immersed in the soothing sounds of nature. The water is glassy and shaded, reflecting the lush green overhead. It’s not uncommon to spot turtles sunbathing on fallen logs, or mullet fish leaping out of the water in quick flashes. Paddlers might spot: • Ospreys and bald eagles circling overhead • Great blue herons, ibises, and egrets wading through the shallows • The occasional river otter, raccoon, or even a manatee cruising quietly below the surface $185 per person include transportation, kayak rentals, guides, and taxes & gratuities. APCA Welcome Reception 6:30 - 7:30 pm Come enjoy a cocktail with fellow APCA members.
